The Brazilian government highlighted this Tuesday, before the UN Human Rights Council, the importance of the international community’s role in the fight for the defense of universal rights and against totalitarian regimes.

“The International Community cannot remain indifferent to these violations, the Mission’s report is just the beginning of its work, there is much more to investigate about what happened, hence the importance of extending its mandate for two years”, said the Brazilian representative.
Furthermore, the delegate from Brazil emphasized during his intervention that resolution 42/25 by establishing the Fact-Finding Mission, has renewed in Venezuelans the hope for justice that they do not find in their country.
“The Mission’s report has shed devastating light on human rights violations,” he added.
